Our Goals

Spirited Tattooing Coalition set out to adopt a creative and respectful space that makes all of its patrons feel positive, supported and free. A safe space for people to express themselves. We want to make change in the industry and help people grow and feel accomplished in their bodies in ways that make them feel connected and at home with themself. To build a space for artists from the immediate community of West Philadelphia and all over the world to be a part of the shop and have the tools and platform they need to express themselves, where they otherwise might not have one. We want marginalized voices, artists and identities to have sanctuary while making those connections and baring down to their deepest layer.

 


Appointment Process

We try our best to get to everyone, but it is difficult sometimes to do so in a timely manner. The current response time for new requests on average is one-twelve days as we handle all of this personally and it takes some time to work our way through new requests thoughtfully.

The required deposit is $60 (the shops minimum for getting tattooed) and possibly more for larger scale work. They go toward the overall sum of the tattoo and are nonrefundable. To reschedule, 48 hours is required or the deposit is forfeited. If you need to cancel please call the shop or email us/your artist directly. *All contact made after 8/9pm won't be seen til the following day.

FAQ:

  • What are your hours?
    We are open Tuesday thru Saturday, noon til nine; Sunday/Monday appt only.

  • What are your prices?
    The shop minimum is $60 and the hourly varies from $120-150 depending on artist, size and placement. To obtain an estimate, contact us directly via email (or your artist of choice) or stop by the shop.

  • How old do you have to be to get tattooed at Spirited?
    You must be 18+ years of age.

  • Can I bring a friend?
    You most certainly may bring a support pal. Please note that our work space is pertinent to our focus and energy towards your tattoo so only one guest is allowed in the work area with you at a time.

  • What kind of payment do you take?

    We take cash, Venmo (@spiritedtattoo), PayPal (Spiritedtattoo@gmail.com), and take credit cards with a percentage fee based on the current taxes we incur from both the service provider and the state to provide this service. ATMs are available on the block.

  • How do I get there?
    The 34 trolley drops you off at either the 49th street or 50th street corner. The 64 bus drops you off on 49th street a block north or south of Baltimore Ave (depending on where you're coming from). Route 76 in the highway has exit 346B that will take you right to us. Free parking on our street and the surrounding blocks. Click on the map for detailed directions to get to us.

  • What is your accessibility like?
    IMPROVED! We’re so pleased that our new 4912 location has a sloped sidewalk to the door and the bathroom is ADA compliant. With our new move came more accessibility and we couldn’t be happier!

  • How do I make an appointment?

  • Do you take walk-ins?
    Walk-ins are always welcome and are managed on a first come, first serve basis.

  • Do you do piercings?
    Sorry, we do not.

  • Gift certificates?
    Yes indeedy!

  • Owy-wowy, does it hurt? :3
    Yes. Yes they all hurt at least a little bit. How rested you are, if you ate a good meal within a few hours prior to be tattooed, and where on the body you're getting it all factor into pain levels. Usually after 10/15 minutes your body settles a bit and your endorphins have kicked in enough to help manage this to the level of annoyance and not sheer pain. We provide an environment where you can relax, kick back and feel good in your body and the tattoo you wish to have- the experience will have you walking away happy and planning your next project with us!

  • I want to listen to Beyonce while I'm getting tattooed, can that happen?
    Always.
